The Charlotte Hornets announced Friday that forward Jeff Taylor has been removed from team activities while the NBA investigates the charges that have been brought against Taylor involving a domestic violence incident at a hotel in Michigan. From the Hornets:
"We have informed Jeffery Taylor that effective immediately he will not be participating in any team-related activities while the NBA is investigating his conduct in this matter.
Taylor was arrested earlier this week and charged after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and a hotel employee, and for causing damages to property between $200 and $1000 in value, according to reports. NBA commissioner Adam Silver said the league would revisit its policies regarding domestic violence in light of the controversy surrounding the NFL and Ray Rice in a domestic violence situation.
As an organization, we understand and appreciate the seriousness of this matter, and will assist the NBA and law enforcement in any way we can until this come to an acceptable resolution. We have spoken with Jeffery and his representatives and they fully understand our position."
